I’m Brandy McPhee. My husband Brian and I have been training and showing barrel horses since 2006. In 2021 we finally started our business McPhee Quarter Horses.
I have qualified multiple times for the (WRA and LRA) amateur rodeo finals. We proceeded to begin training futurity horses and running in the CPRA and WPRA rodeo circuits. We have had two super stakes money winners. Brian and I have had five horses futurity derby horses ranked the top 5 futurity horses in Canada.
We took our first trip to Nevada and Arizona this year. We had a successful winter there, running at some of the biggest early futurities.
This year we are running 4-5 futurity horses and occasionally 2 derby horses in Canada and into the USA. We enjoy molding these young athletes the end of their futurity year and preparing them for the CBHI, then to go on as solid barrel horses for their owners.
Longevity is so important to our program. Maintaining these horses is always a challenge. I’m excited to be sponsored by North 40 performance this year. Clean, high fat, low starch/sugar feed is so important to our program. This feed helps to decrease inflammation as well as many other benefits. I like to eat clean and healthy non-processed food so I feel like I should feed my horses the same!
